What is a ‘soft’ credit search?

It’s a simple way to assess whether you may be eligible for motor finance. Our credit checker service is FREE, it won’t affect your credit rating, and it doesn’t commit you to anything.

Are repayments monthly or weekly?

Repayments are always monthly and are typically over 60 months although shorter terms are possible (all subject to status). We sometimes quote ‘weekly equivalent’ prices as a guide. 

What are your Finance Terms?

Bus and Taxis Direct Ltd (T/A The Taxi Shop) is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (674319). We act as a credit broker not a lender. We can introduce you to a limited number of lenders who may be able to offer you finance facilities for your purchase. We will only introduce you to these lenders. We may receive a commission payment from the finance provider if you decide to enter into an agreement with them. You may be able to obtain finance for your purchase from other lenders and you are encouraged to seek alternative quotations. If you would like to know how we handle complaints, please ask for a copy of our complaints handling process. You can also find information about referring a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) at financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

Is VAT included?

Yes, all our prices are inclusive of VAT.

Why do your used minibuses have VAT added?

The used minibuses we sell are categorised as commercial vehicles. Customers will pay VAT on any new vehicle, whether it is an MPV or commercial. For used vehicles, if the vehicle is purchased by a Dealer with VAT before it is sold to a customer, it then has to be sold to the customer with VAT. If it is purchased by the Dealer under what is known as the Margin Scheme, VAT does not apply.


What warranty will a new vehicle have?

Manufacturers’ warranty periods for new vehicles range from 3 years to 7 years. The mileage alternative in a warranty is typically between 60,000-100,000 miles. Warranties are from the manufacturer not The Taxi Shop though we will endeavour to support any reasonable claims.

Do used vehicles have a warranty?

Used vehicles may carry a remaining manufacturer’s warranty; or The Taxi Shop Warranty (both of which shall be specified at point of sale).


Is delivery free of charge?

Yes, we will deliver free of charge to any mainland UK address.

Can you deliver to Northern Ireland?

I’m afraid not. We can deliver to any mainland UK port where you can pick up the vehicle. Or, if you fly into Luton, we will pick you up from the airport, collect your vehicle, and you can drive away. We’ll also provide a full tank of fuel. Please call 01525 717 695 for further information.

Air & surface sanitation

What are the UK test results for Aseptic Plus+?

Tests done in a Private Hire Minibus fitted with Aseptic Plus+ and used on council contracts returned a total reduction of all living organisms (fungi, yeast, mould, bacteria) of 99.85%. Tests were carried out by Cavendish Laboratories, a UKAS accredited laboratory.
